    BSOD in Windows 8.1 0x9F_3_btfilter_IMAGE_usbhub.sys

I've been getting a blue screen (BSOD) after upgrading to Windows 8.1

My error log includes this line:
    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0x9F_3_btfilter_IMAGE_usbhub.sys

Does anyone know what the problem is?

    Cheers

A good thing to do with any BSOD problem is to ensure your drivers are up-to-date.

I'd also say that the 0x9F_3_btfilter_IMAGE_usbhub.sys error message suggests the BSOD is being caused by a USB device, so I'd check drivers for USB devices first.

    Hope this helps!

I got a Blue Screen of Death and the following error message in Windows 8:
    ERROR: NTFS FILE SYSTEM (000000024)

It turned out my hard drive had become corrupted. Luckily I had backed up my data on an external hard drive.

BSODs still happen in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, but it is usually possible to work out the cause.
