Iím going to build my own PC but Iím worried about electrostatic discharge (ESD). How can I prevent ESD from damaging my chips?

You should wear an ESD wrist strap to ground yourself and prevent static from building up. You can also link your PC up to an ESD mat.

If youíre moving computer parts about you should put them in antistatic bags to stop them gathering static.

If youíre building your PC in a really dry place you might want to use a humidifier Ė static electricity builds up more easily in dry places. If youíre going for overkill you can use a carpet spray as well, which helps reduce static.
